Il y rencontre celui qui deviendra son futur associé, et ensemble, ils quittent la Comex en 1984 pour fonder Géocéan, une société spécialisée dans l’étude et les forages géologiques sous-marins. Henri-Germain Delauze, qui croit dur comme fer à leur projet, les soutient dans cette aventure entrepreneuriale ambitieuse en apportant à la société un tiers du capital. Rapidement, Géocéan devient l’une des entreprises internationales lesplus performantes et innovantes et en 1986, la société décroche son premier gros contrat : le tunnel sous la Manche. La nouvelle fait la une du journal régional « Le Provençal » le 21 juillet 1986 avec une photographie des deux associés surmontée d’un titre ironique « Ces Marseillais font la Manche ».En 1997, 3 ans après la fin des travaux et la mise en service du tunnel sous la Manche, l'American Society of Civil Engineers désigne cette construction sous-marine de 50 km de long comme l’une des 7 merveilles du monde. Une consécration dont Henri-Germain Delauze sera particulièrement fier. En souvenir de cette fabuleuse année, quelques jours avant les fêtes de fin d’année, il offre à cet ancien plongeur Comex devenu son partenaire, une montre Submariner ref. 16610.L’année suivante, en 1998, Géocéan apporte son concours à Comex dans le cadre des recherches du fameux P-38 Lightning, l'avion à bord duquel l’écrivain Antoine de Saint-Exupéry a disparu en 1944. C'est d’ailleurs son fils, plongeur chevronné comme lui, qui sortira le débris marqué du numéro de série 2734L grâce auquel l’avion sera formellement identifié.Chargé de cette histoire incroyable, notre exemplaire est une pièce de collectionirrésistible. Accompagnée de sa garantie d’origine, sur laquelle figure le fameux code 119, et de nombreux accessoires professionnels, cette Submariner possède une lunette superbement décolorée. Si sa période de production de 22 ans est particulièrement longue, notre exemplaire est d'autant plus surprenant car il provient de la plus petite série produite parmi la plus produite des références: la Submariner.,Notre montre provient d'un semble de 3 pièces livrées exclusivement en Polynésie française.,Sérié limitée et numérotée N° 2/3 au dos, notre exemplaire arbore une double signature particulièrement rare et improbable au cadran: Annuaire polynésien.,Uniquement 3 exemplaires ont été livré avec cette configuration de cadran. La commande a été réalisée spécialement par Rolex en 1999 à la demande du distributeur officiel de Rolex en Nouvelle-Calédonie. Le revendeur agréée s'étant engagé à ne pas vendre ces modèles spéciaux en France métropolitaine.,L'Annuaire Polynésien, initialement nommée OPT, Office des Postes et Télécommunication, est l'opérateur public historique de la Polynésie française chargé du courrier postal, des télécommunications et des services financiers. Fondée en 1956, l'OPT acquiert sa nouvelle appellation en 1999.,Tout laisse à penser que cette version Annuaire Polynésien a été imaginée pour célébrer cette nouvelle identité synonyme de passage à une nouvelle modernité.,Ce modèle, qui n'aurait jamais dû quitter l'île est présenté pour la première fois en vente publique.,Une correspondance entre Rolex et son propriétaire actuel mentionnant ces précisions accompagne la montre et sera remise à son futur propriétaire.,D'après les informations transmises par Rolex et selon nos recherches, il semble que cette montre a connu seulement 2 propriétaires depuis sa mise sur le marché.,Son propriétaire d'origine en fait l'acquisition à l'aube des années 2000 en Polynésie française.
