A principios de los años 50, cuando la cerámica de Vallauris está muy de moda, la vanguardista Mithé Espelt realiza sus creaciones con un lujo discreto. Desde su sur natal donde desarrolló su gusto por la cerámica, ha creado colores y una paleta de esmaltes cuyo secreto solo ella conoce.
Esta artista, que se mostró discreta hasta el final de su vida, se comprometió a reinterpretar los objetos cotidianos femeninos, como los espejos, las cajas e incluso las joyas, diseñados como pequeñas obras de arte.
La vida de Mithé Espelt es una verdadera saga, que se hizo emocionante por el encuentro y la influencia de figuras destacadas como Pablo Picasso, Jean Cocteau, Line Vautrin, Brigitte Bardot, Louise de Vilmorin o incluso «Linou», su gran amiga la ceramista Valentine Schlegel, fallecida recientemente.
