Fine Art Objects Line Vautrin

Line Vautrin, now a big name in the market and in collectors' circles, began her career, pre-War, at the legendary Maison Schiaparelli before creating her first jewellery and buttons using waste bronze, scavenged from the family foundry.

The Art Collection Department of Replica Handbag and Jewelry Shopping has brought together a number of 'Vertèbres' and 'Ulysse' necklaces, 'Péchés capitaux' (Deadly Sins) and 'Filles de Neptune' (Daughters of Neptune) bracelets and 'O comme...' earrings, as well brooches in bronze or talosel with creative and amusing titles.

Next to come: poetic rebus cases, boxes, compacts and pillboxes combining gilded bronze, enamel and light patterns.

In the early 1950s, Line Vautrin developed a technique of her own based on cellulose acetate, which she called talosel. This material enabled her to create new shapes and try out new objects, such as lamps, tables and, notably, mirrors, which became her signature.

Line Vautrin created them until the 1980s in all sizes and colours: ‘Sorcière’ (witch’s) mirrors, convex mirrors, ‘Soleil’ (sun) mirrors, ‘Étincelles’ (sparks) mirrors and ‘Ombelle’ (umbel) mirrors.
