Lanvin bags
The success of the Lanvin brand is entirely due to the exceptional career of its founder, Jeanne Lanvin, who started her career as a milliner at the age of 16.
After working with one of the biggest milliners in Barcelona, she returned to Paris in 1889 and established herself on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, where the company’s headquarters still are. However, it wasn’t until 1909 that the company was truly founded.
Lanvin Décoration was founded in 1920, enabling clients to live in a Lanvin designed space, full of refinement and elegance. The idea of ‘art de vivre’ (the art of living) was born.
Lanvin Parfum was created in 1924.
Gradually Lanvin penetrated the world of high society, dressing intellectuals and actors. By 1925 Lanvin had a staff of over 800 people.
The brand later began to lose prestige and it was the creative director, Alber Elbaz, who succeeded in breathing new life into the brand in the new millennium. He wanted to bring the original spirit of Jeanne Lanvin up to date for new generations. He created a ‘Parisienne’ style that was urban, sensuous and elegant.
The logo of the Lanvin brand still projects the spirit of its creator. It represents Jeanne and her daughter and evokes the close family relationship that had always sustained and inspired her creations.
