The Milanese jewellery House Buccellati originated in the 18th century with the expertise of a goldsmith by the name of Contardo Buccellati. The House which bears this name was founded in 1919, by Mario Buccellati, whom the great Italian writer Gabriele D'Annunzio called "the Prince of Goldsmiths.” This workshop inherited an expertise reminiscent of the Renaissance and Baroque era "botteghe."

A Buccellati style is classic, virtuosic, and exuberant all at the same time. It uses fine gold lace, cascades of rare stones, the science of reflection and contrast, a play on metal tones, and the delicacy of festoons. The famous "tulle" of gold, a metal honeycomb net, is like lace stitched from diamond and coloured stone, characterized above all by the refined and ultra-sophisticated style of the Buccellati House. It is work as dizzying as the almost “textile” treatment of scraped gold and silver, hammered and worked like precious brocades and damasks. It is a masterpiece and an inimitable signature!

From father to son for three generations, the master goldsmiths of the Buccellati House bring back tools and techniques that have almost disappeared, in order to create jewellery, ornamental pieces, artistic objects, and tableware. The most famous motifs from the Buccellati House, along with the fishnet style and "scraped" gold, are leaves, shells, and fruits – all a wonderful and naturalistic bestiary. In Paris, the Buccelatti House is located on the Place Vendôme.
