  Description : John Ebsworth, London the flat topped case with stepped and moulded cresting over a blind fret and spirally twisted three-quarter columns to the front and matching quarter columns to the rear over a convex throat moulding, long door decorated with raised birds and figures within a landscape, with glazed lenticle on panel base decorated with a mythical tiger-like creature fanned by an attendant, the 11 inch square brass dial signed below the chapter ring and mounted with well cast cherubs head spandrels interspersed with engraved flowers and foliage, silvered roman and arabic chapter ring enclosing a finely matted centre with subsidiary seconds, ringed winding squares (the squares themselves also notched), date aperture and rose engraved centre, the movement with tall plates and barrels, six knopped and finned pillars and outside countwheel strike on a bell 2.17m (7ft 1.5in)
