Patek Philippe Nautilus watches
The history of the Patek Philippe Nautilus watch
The history of the Nautilus watch began in 1976 in Geneva, on the idea of Gerald Genta. At that time when luxury watches should all be gold, the Nautilus Steel watch left the world of watchmaking perplexed. From its appearance, the Patek Philippe Nautilus watch was water resistant to 120 meters: a feat for a watch produced in series! The large size of the casing was criticised on its release on the market. It became a leading selling point of the brand. Over the years, it seduced women and a finer Nautilus model was created in 1980 with the reference 4700.
The style of Patek Philippe Nautilus watch
With its unique design and original construction of its casing, the Patek Philippe Nautilus upset the established codes of luxury watchmaking: its octagonal bezel, its softened angles, its hinges on each side of the casing make it a unique watch. Suited to a new generation fond of challenge and dynamism, it accompanies its owner at all of his activities (office, sports or the weekend).
With numerous possible versions, the Nautilus watch is available in different materials. It is one of the indispensable of Patek Philippe, such as theCalatrava, the Ellipse watch or the montre Gondolo.
