Zenith watches
Monsieur Georges Favre-Jacot founded the Zenith factory in 1865 at the age of 22 and would remain at its head until 1911. The company won many awards and participated in international chronometry competitions by keeping to his main objective which was precision. Zenith was one of the pioneers in this area and has won award after award over nearly 150 years.
In 1969 it created the El Primero movement, which was one of the first automatic chronograph movements. El Primero made the company famous with its exceptional quality and its 36,000 alterations per hour.
After a brief downturn in the eighties, due to the emergence of the quartz watch, the El Primero returned to its place in the limelight with those who admire the performance of a precision chronograph that stands out from the crowd. From the very first, this movement included a triple date and moon phases.
Ten years later, this famous chronograph was chosen to be used by the French army and included the Fly Back function.
From the beginning of the new millennium the dial was opened to show the balance wheel followed by a series of complications, such as the power reserve, tourbillon, large date, split second function, minute repeater, moon phases, and a perpetual calendar, all of which contribute to the perfection of this exceptional timepiece.
