Zenith El Primero watches
The history of the El Primero watch
Created in 1969, the Zenith El Primero watch is the first chronograph with automatic winding, with 36,000 vibrations per hour. In 1975 the Zenith Radio Corporation, owner of the trademark for 4 years, decided to stop the manufacture of mechanical watches and restrict its production to only quartz watches. This was not counting on Charles Vermont, who dedicated with his brother much of his time to the development of this movement and worked tirelessly to resume production. In 1984, the El Primero movements were again manufactured.
The style of the Zenith El Primero watch
The El Primero watch is part of the clan of iconic watches, alongside the Rolex Submariner, the Omega Speedmaster or the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso.
