The Evelyne bag from the Hermès house was born in 1978 when Evelyne Bertrand, then artistic director of the Hermès equestrian department, imagined a bag made especially for riders. In the beginning, this practical bag was conceived for holding grooming equipment that had been infused with horse's sweat. Its ventilation holes make it ideal for this purpose. Those aeration holes represent a H in an oval shape, like a horse's hoof. Thanks to a long strap, this bag can be worn accross the body.

Quickly, this bag became very successful. It turned into a city saddlebag and is perfectly adapted for urban and active women. Gradually, the Evelyne got better at allowing for daily use and gave birth to Evelyne II and Evelyne III. Now, the Evelyne saddlebag has more pockets and its strap is adjustable, making it even more functional.

The Evelyne bag is available in different colors and two sizes, small or very big. The Hermès Evelyne is made of Clémence bull leather. Its hardware is silver metal palladium and monogrammed with a screenprinted "H". The bag closes with a squeeze tab. The number of pockets varies depending on the model (Evelyne, Evelyne II ou III).
